Fluvii in Full Flow
On the evening of Friday 19 June, Houghton Lodge Gardens came alive with creativity and celebration for the much-anticipated opening of Fluvii — an exhibition of over 50 sculptures by 16 exceptionally talented artists. At the heart of the exhibition is the Latin for ‘flows’, a title that captures the harmony between the house, gardens, the natural landscape and the creative energy of the artists, reflecting a shared sense of movement, connection and inspiration.
The launch event welcomed guests to a drinks reception, followed by a guided tour through the gardens. As twilight softened the scenery, speeches from Houghton Lodge owner Sophie Busk, local stone carver Zoë Wilson, and exhibition curator Sarah Rancans reflected on the inspiration behind Fluvii and the power of art in dialogue with nature.
The evening marked not only the beginning of Fluvii but also a celebration of artistic collaboration, natural beauty, and the unique creative spirit that flows through Houghton Lodge Gardens on the banks of the River Test.
