Cutting Cheese: Sculpture, Craft and Performance

Cutting Cheese: Sculpture, Craft and Performance

As part of London Craft Week 2026, Cutting Cheese: Sculpture, Craft and Performance is a live event on Tuesday 12 May, featuring cheese tasting with wine, and a talk. In the window of Paxton & Whitfield — Britain’s oldest cheesemongers — stone carver Zoë Wilson will transform cheese into a visually striking geometric sculpture in a live, free demonstration. Witness her at work from 12–1.30pm, then join an exclusive after-hours cheese tasting with wine at 7pm, when sculptor Ben Russell and Tom Richardson, Head of Retail at Paxton & Whitfield, will discuss parallels between the craft of sculpting and artisan cheesemaking in a conversation moderated by Crafts Study Centre Director Stephen Knott. A limited number of tickets are available for the evening event.

Celebrating cheese as both a material and a cultural artefact, this multidisciplinary project blends demonstration and performance in a playful exploration of craft, skill, and creativity through an unexpected medium. London Craft Week is an annual event that celebrates outstanding British and international creativity, bringing together over 1,000 established and emerging makers, designers, brands, and galleries from around the world.
