Jo Grogan (b. 1980)
Jo is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. She is a professional woodcarver and sculptor who graduated with a first-class honours degree in Historic Woodcarving and Gilding from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2023. She is currently in her second year of residency at the Sarabande Foundation. Her pieces Rocaille Morphosis and Best Chair were selected for the exhibition Flowers in Recently, she showcased her work at the Sarabande House of Bandits pop-up event in Selfridges and participated in two group shows at the Sarabande Foundation and The Wood Awards at the Oxo Gallery. Jo has been highlighted in articles by several publications, including The Times, Harper’s Bazaar, and Hole & Corner. She also appeared in an episode of BBC’s Countryfile and in the Sky Arts series The Prince’s Master Crafters. Among her accolades are the Grinling Gibbons Tercentenary Emerging Carvers Award (2021), the Wood Award (2023), and a QEST scholarship (2022). Beyond her art, Jo is dedicated to engaging in social charitable initiatives aimed at making a positive impact in the community.
