Alice creates intricately layered porcelain sculptures that are infused with a rich tonal blending technique. With a forensic eye, she translates the seemingly familiar into highly complex pieces. With their richly textured surfaces and intricate colours, her works are also recognised for their calming qualities. It is this tension between the repetitive and experimental, the calm and the kinetic that makes her objects so compelling.

This piece is layered with delicate strips of coloured porcelain, which Alice refers to as ‘ribbons’. She carefully chooses a narrow colour palette that gradually intensifies.
