Flashes of red and gold flicker through the air, accompanied by the soft melody of birdsong. The name Thistle Tweaker is rooted in the Anglo-Saxon word ‘Thisteltuige’, a poetic nod to the bird’s feeding ritual. With slender, pointed beaks, they expertly pluck seeds from swaying teasels and thistles, perching delicately before fluttering off again in a burst of colour and lightness.
