Described by the artist as ‘My sweet Flossy’, this delicate piece was initially created in a modelling plasticine that was sculpted around an aluminium armature. A solid oak block crafted the base. The original then headed off to the local foundry to be cast in bronze. Once cast, Matt finished the casting and applied the patina. His middle daughter, Florence, was the primary inspiration for the character of Flossy, her beautiful, heartwarming glow bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
