Flesh Rock is an ongoing exploration of the visceral qualities of stone, reinterpreting classical representations of the figure. In Hayley’s hand-carved piece, a natural crevice is exposed and carved with enlarged folds from a reclining female nude, while the surrounding stone remains raw. Through abstraction, it challenges the objectification of the female body and reveals the subversive beauty of flesh-like forms.
